Spiritual Care
Chaplain care provides an array of services and programs that are supportive to the spiritual and emotional needs of patients and their families, employees, medical staff and volunteers. Chaplains visit to serve as attentive listeners, accepting people where they are and encouraging them on their journey of faith.
The Ministerial Alliance members of this county respect the religious preference of the patient and do not impose their individual beliefs or religious practices. Their role is to be with others at a critical point of life to provide comfort, support and compassion. They work with the health care team so that the patient’s spiritual and emotional needs are addressed, along with their medical needs.
This team of spiritual caregivers provides a full range of support services from the birth of a new baby to terminal illness and death. They make initial visits, pre-surgery visits, 24 hr./day crisis on call services, sacramental ministry, routine and referral visits. Our chaplain team coordinates efforts with area clergy and will make contact with them when members of their faith request.
At Rooks County Health Center, our goal is total patient care.
