Hospital Foundation’s Rookstock Event Returns

Tickets on sale now for Rookstock 2020, the Rooks County Healthcare Foundation’s annual fundraiser being held 6 p.m. Saturday, May 2 at the north shop of Steve’s Electric & Roustabout located at the intersection of W Road and Section Line. Headlining the event this year is Lucas Maddy and the Kansas Cartel.

“This year’s Rookstock is a celebration of what we’ve accomplished together to date and what we can do going forward,” explained Eric Sumearll, Director of Communications and Development for Rooks County Health Center (RCH). Most recently, RCH opened a new dedicated Rehabilitation Center with new equipment, a zero-entry aquatic therapy pool and a public indoor walking track. “Rookstock continues to play a vital role in our rural healthcare’s success,” stated Sumearll.

The musical event includes an open bar, a dinner with choice of brisket or pecan chicken, and chances to win items through live and silent auctions. The official website, Rookstock.com, promotes the event and provides anyone interested in attending with previews of the items that will be available for auction. In past auctions, items have been as diverse as a gift basket up to vacation getaways. This year, one of the auction items is an autographed item from world champion quarterback, Patrick Mahomes.

Proceeds from this year’s Rookstock will benefit the final stages of the hospital expansion. Tickets are $100 each or a table of eight for $700. Sumearll advises to call early to reserve your seat now as tickets are limited. Call 785-688-4428 or email: esumearll@plainville.hpmin.com.
