Casual for a Cause is just one of the ways that RCH employees are giving back to the community. To celebrate another round of high scores on the patient satisfaction survey, RCH staff were treated to grilled hot dogs (it was National Hot Dog Day after all) and burgers and wore jeans to work in exchange for donations of school supplies for the 3 Rooks County school districts as well as the Sacred Heart Grade School.
Nine boxes of supplies were donated and distributed between Stockton, Palco and Plainville schools.
Many Casual days have supported the food banks in the county by donating hundreds of pounds of food and hundreds of dollars and grocery store gift cards. In addition, over $17,000 has been raised over the last 8 years with the annual Christmas Basket raffle with all of the proceeds going to buy Christmas gifts for children in Rooks County.
AJ Thomas, the CEO of RCH expressed his gratitude for the many community projects that hospital employees undertake, saying “I’m proud to work in such a caring environment. We all encourage each other to go the extra mile, not just in the healthcare that we deliver here at the hospital, but also when we take that caring and commitment out into the community, to show our appreciation and gratitude for the support that we get from our friends and neighbors”.
