This Saturday, marks Rooks County Health Center’s annual free Health Fair. In addition to free refreshments, giveaways, health information, a quilt raffle and free and discounted screenings, this year’s Health Fair celebrates RCH’s 60th Anniversary. The free Health Fair runs 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 25 at the Stockton High School Gymnasium, 105 N. Cypress Street.
RCH’s cardiac rehab department will perform arthritis hand therapy with paraffin wax dip while the diagnostic imaging department will offer free screenings of the carotid artery and lower extremity arterial screenings. RCH’s laboratory department plans discounted lab screenings from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. for cardiac risk (requires 12-14 hour fast with sips of water only), Proactive Chem 14, thyroid test, men’s health, blood cell profiles and average blood sugar measurements. Vendors include Angels Care Home Health, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas, Eagle Med, Early Detection Works, Good Samaritan Home Health, Hays Med Center – Lifeline, Juice Plus, Kid Link, Kirsten Angell – Diabetic Educator, Midwest Family Health, NW Kansas Area Agency on Aging, Options, Pathways to Wellness, Post Rock Family Medicine, Rooks County Health Center, Rooks County Health Center Auxiliary, Rooks County Healthcare Foundation, Rooks County Transportation Service, SKIL of Western Kansas, Solomon Valley Manor and Sunflower Health Plan.
“We’re pleased to have such a wide range of vendors coming to the Health Fair. We always try to offer something for all ages and to encourage attendees to become proactive in their health. This year will be no different from the always popular Kids’ Corner to the screenings and health information,” said Kandie Morain, RCH Communication and Development.

RCH continues to grow to serve the area with the addition of a second ultrasound machine, a new CT scanner and soon an in-house MRI machine. These services will help secure health care locally as future generations look to RCH for the latest in health care.
