The public is invited to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Rooks County Health Center (RCH) at the annual Free Family Fun Health Fair 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 25 at the Stockton High School Gymnasium, 105 N. Cypress Street. The Free Health Fair offers free screenings, free refreshments and educational opportunities on how to be proactive in one’s own health care.
“We’re excited to celebrate our 60th Anniversary in Stockton,” said Kandie Morain, RCH Communications & Development Assistant. “In addition to helping people explore the benefits of personal health and wellness we want to pay tribute to everyone who over the years helped bring the latest in health care to Rooks County.”
According to Morain, RCH’s new facility has experienced tremendous growth since opening in 2008. And with last year’s addition of a second ultrasound machine, a new CT scanner and soon an in-house MRI machine, these numbers are expected to experience another climb as future generations look to Rooks County Health Center for the latest in health care.
“The health fair provides a great opportunity to share with the public RCH’s future plans for providing state-of-the art care for the residents of Rooks County and the surrounding area,” explained Morain.
The Free Health Fair includes free screenings of the carotid artery and lower extremity arterial screenings. Discounted screenings are offered from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m for cardiac risk (requires 12-14 hour fast with sips of water only), Proactive Chem 14, thyroid test, men’s health, blood cell profiles and average blood sugar measurements. A kids’ corner with activities allows the health fair to be enjoyed by all ages.
